IN ORDER TO OBTAIN AN FCL SEA FREIGHT PRICE QUOTE ON SHIPPING HOUSEHOLD GOODS OR PERSONAL EFFECTS OVERSEAS (i.e. goods for personal use, not for sale) MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE SELECTING THE PROPER TYPE OF COMMODITY – Household Goods or Personal Effects.
When requesting an FCL freight price quote for shipping Household Goods or Personal effects the shipper must understand that shipping Household Goods or Personal effects out of USA is subject to the following additional restrictions, but not limited by:
- Shipper is responsible for packing, loading and securing cargo in sea freight containers or hire labor to load containers. Liability for damage resulting from insufficient packaging, loading and securing cargo in containers rests with the shipper.
- Shipper is responsible for providing a permit to have a 20’ or 40’ container positioned at his/her home or facility (If required. We strongly recommend checking in advance with your local City Hall to see if you need a permit). Some trucking companies may require a copy of the permit prior to delivering the container. If shipper fails to acquire a permit where permits are required, any charges that incur will be billed to the shipper.
- Exceeding of free LIVE LOAD time is subject to additional charges from trucking companies. Find more about LIVE LOAD below.
- If an FCL ocean freight shipment contains a motor vehicle(s), then it is shipper’s responsibility to validate the motor vehicle(s) title(s) with U.S. Customs.
- Depending on particular shipment’s conditions other limitations may apply. In order to find as more details about an FCL ocean freight shipment containing HHG as possible, upon a booking request, our representative should contact the shipper in advance. The final seafreight price quote will be based on information provided by the shipper. Any charges and fees that may occur due to incorrect information provided by shipper in advance are on the shipper’s account.
- Rates obtained in our online sea freight price calculator may not indicate carrier’s GRI (General Rates Increase), changes in BAF (fuel surcharge) etc and must be re-confirmed upon a booking request. If reconfirmed shipping cost would be higher than offered in our online freight price calculator and not accepted by shipper, then a security deposit paid in order to initiate a shipment will be refunded in full. Otherwise please refer to our return policy in this link.
SHIPPING CARS OUT OF U.S. SEPARATELY:
THE SEAFREIGHT PRICING SCHEDULE FOR SHIPPING HOUSEHOLD GOODS OR PERSONAL EFFECTS OVERSEAS IS NOT VALID FOR SHIPPING MIXED HOUSEHOLD GOODS OR PERSONAL EFFECTS THAT INCLUDE CAR(S) (or other motor vehicles such trucks, motorcycles, boats, jets etc). The reason is the commodity restrictions by steamship lines and/or different tariffs that may apply on shipping mixed commodity containing cars (or other motor vehicles). U.S. Customs regulations on titles validation for motor vehicles exporting from the USA will apply on such shipments as well.
